Box Hill return to action on Sunday afternoon, traveling north to tackle the table-topping Gold Coast Suns at Heritage Bank Stadium.
Zane Littlejohn and his match committee have made three changes to the side which accounted for the Brisbane Lions a fortnight ago, recalling Bailey Macdonald and Jaylon Thorpe, while handing mid-season Hawks recruit Brandon Ryan his debut in the brown and gold.
The former Northern Bullants spearhead has kicked 18 goals from seven matches this year and having served a suspension from his time at Cramer Street features for the first time.
He’s joined among the ins by the dangerous Thorpe, who has tallied 20 goals in just seven games of VFL football this term and makes his return following injury.
In all the 23 is comprised of 16 AFL-listed and seven VFL-listed Hawks, with five up-and-coming stars held over as emergencies – among them Max Hall, who booted three goals in the side’s last meeting, the 2022 Elimination Final.
Lachie Wynd has been squeezed out of the side by the additions of Ryan and Thorpe, while speedster Jack O’Sullivan and talented swingman Emerson Jeka miss due to injury.
The match kicks off a Hawks and Suns double header, with the first of back-to-back games scheduled to get underway at 12:55pm.
