Patron Safety Project

We need your help!

If you’ve ever come to Box Hill City Oval and enjoyed the action from the Margaret Street end, you’ll know it can be a perilous experience. Without netting behind the goal footballs routinely enter the crowd – potentially hitting spectators – or are kicked out of the venue entirely.

As you can well appreciate, either outcome is far from ideal.

Today the Box Hill Hawks Future Fund launches the Club’s Patron Safety Project, a fundraising initiative facilitated by the Australian Sports Foundation.

The cost of this upgrade is significant. Simply, without the support of our community it cannot be realised.

When completed the Patron Safety Project will complement similar netting at the Whitehorse Road end of the ground, providing a safer experience for everyone who attends the venue.

Past fundraising projects have delivered invaluable support and resources to improve our program and facilities, including GPS units to monitor player training and performance and an upgrade to City Oval’s scoreboard.

It’s important to note that every donation above $2 is tax deductible via the Australian Sports Foundation’s framework; with the new financial year soon upon us, there’s no better time to make a contribution.
