Community Clubs May 14

Our Hawks were well represented over the weekend at Community Club level, with many of our VFL and VFLW players making a strong appearance in their local colours. Great to see the talent and performances continuing to soar across the leagues and teams from our Hawks.

VFL: Round 5 of the Eastern Football Netball League found Billy Hicks and the Blackburn Seniors with a massive 96 point victory against the Norwood Seniors with Josh Tovey, 18.15 (123) to 4.3 (27). Billy had an incredible performance with 2 goals kicked.

Noah Bourke and the Vermont Seniors secured a close 9 point win against the Doncaster Easter Seniors, 13.10 (88) to 12.7 (79). Noah had a ripper game with a goal kicked and receiving best player on the day.

The Mooroolbark Seniors with Jye Peacock faced a 23 point loss against the South Belgrave Seniors during their Round 6 game, 5.18 (48) to 9.17 (71). Jye was named best player.

In the Coates Talent League, the Eastern Ranges Boys with Iliro Smit and Remy Maclean won by a slimming 3 points against the Western Jets Seniors in Round 6, 12.15 (87) to 12.12 (84). Iliro and Remy were on fire with a goal each in addition to being named best player.

In Round 6 of the Ovens & Murray Football Netball League, Toby Cossor and the Myrtleford Seniors smashed out the Corowa Rutherglen Seniors by 72 points in Round 6 on Saturday, 18.10 (118) to 7.4 (46). Toby received best player on the day.

In Round 6 of the Gippsland Football Netball League, the Maffra Seniors with Zach Felsbourg were unfortunately unable to secure the win on Saturday after losing by just 5 points to the Wonthaggi Seniors, 8.7 (55) to 8.12 (60). Despite the loss, Zach was named best player.

VFLW: In Round 5 of the Victorian Amateur Football League (VAFA), the Old Scotch Seniors with Jade Wise, Mietta Kendall, Liv Barber, Emma Robins and Nadia von Bertouch defeated the Monash Blues by a whopping 70 points, 11.16 (82) to 1.6 (12). Mietta and Jade landed in the best player votes on the day, in addition to Liv snagging a goal.

The Old Yarra Cobras with Mikayla Lee, Erin Woodford and Amber Sciacca faced a tough loss against the Kew Seniors, 1.0 (6) to 3.14 (32). Mikayla received best player.

In the Eastern Football Netball League with the South Croydon Seniors, Torey Burns and Beth Griffin were unable to take home the win after a 20 point loss against the Eastern Devils Seniors in Round 4, 3.3 (21) to 6.5 (41). Torey was named best player.

The Beaconsfield Seniors with Jessica Matin were defeated by 18 points against the North Ringwood Seniors on Saturday, 6.5 (41) to 8.11 (59). Jess performed incredibly as she kicked 2 goals and found herself amongst the votes for best player.

In the Outer East Football Netball League, Lily Carlin and the Olinda Ferny Creek Seniors couldn’t secure the win on the weekend as they were defeated by 21 points against the Healesville Seniors with Paula Pavic during Round 5, 1.4 (10) to 4.7 (31). Lily and Paula both received best player for the game.

Sky Wilson and the Woori Yallock Seniors emerged victorious on Saturday, after defeating the Emerald Seniors by 23 points, 4.6 (30) to 1.1 (7). Sky received best player.

In the Essendon District Football League, the Greenvale Seniors with Grace Matser had a huge win over the weekend with an 83 point victory against the Strathmore/Pascoe vale Seniors in Round 5, 14.9 (93) to 1.2 (8). Amongst the win, Grace also kicked a goal!

In Round 6 of the Coates Talent League, the Dandenong Stingrays with Georgia Templeton had an 18 point win over the Tassie Devils, 6.7 (43) to 3.7 (25).

Mia Zielinski and the Sandringham Dragons had a solid 30 point victory over the Western Jets, 8.4 (52) to 3.4 (22). Mia put on a huge performance, kicking 3 goals for the Dragons, and listed in the best player votes on the day.
