Community Club Update

A number of Box Hill Hawks personnel were on show at their community clubs this past weekend, with friends turned enemies for the day, stirring wins and disheartening defeats.

The second round of the Eastern Football League’s Premier Division pitted Mackenzie Doreian’s Blackburn against Brayden Kilpatrick’s South Croydon in an ANZAC Day showdown.

‘Killa’s’ Bulldogs took the points on the back of a 21-point victory, with his efforts seeing him named among his team’s best. Also in action for the winners were former Hawks Nick Evans, Max Warren and Jordan Walker.

Adrian Kalcovski kicked two goals as his Vermont bounced back from a round one loss; whilst Chayce Black donned the brown and gold of Rowville in the Hawks’ 50-point win over Berwick.

Elsewhere Mihaele Zalac’s Doncaster fell to local rivals Doncaster East.

In EFNL Division One action a couple of our boys enjoyed positive results, headlined by Cayden Maki’s Mooroolbark continuing their hot start to 2021 and Beau Tennant’s Montrose besting Lilydale.

Over in the VAFA Riley Bowman’s St. Kevin’s and Charlie Beasley’s Old Trinity both fell to defeats, while Josh Le Grice’s Old Brighton were too strong for Caulfield Grammarians.

Outside of the metropolitan leagues, Jesse Cucinotta and his Shepparton United were too good for the Mooroopna Cats.
