A Letter From The President

Welcome to the 2025 season!

Whilst the off-season seems to grow shorter and shorter every year, the arrival of the season proper
certainly provides a great sense of excitement.

From an on-field perspective, we were pleased to have relatively stable pre-seasons, led by the
reappointment of our senior coaches in Michael Ericson and Zane Littlejohn.

The playing groups will be led by Cal Porter and El McLinden with great leaderships in behind them.
The club is in great hands with Cal and El!

List management is of course the primary focus for both teams, and we are pleased to have retained
key parts of our list as well as attracting some great talent to Fenjiu Stadium.

Off-field, we are excited to have several new sponsors come on board. Its through their support that
we can provide the quality of the programs that we offer, and we look forward to welcoming them
to the club in the next few months.

The long-awaited re-development is now scheduled to begin in late September. It will be a
transformative outcome for our club, and we continue to build one of the best state league grounds
in Victoria. Now to get something done about the lighting.

From a Board perspective, I have decided to stand down as President at the conclusion of the
season. The Board instigated a sub-committee, led by John Ure, to recommend and endorse a
replacement and it’s great to announce that our current Vice President, Carli Barnes, has been
offered the role and will takeover at the conclusion of the season. The club will be in great hands.

So, to our Men’s program, good luck this Friday as we take on Carlton down at Ikon Park.

The VFLW team have to wait a bit longer before launching their season against Geelong down at
Deakin University on April 19.

Thanks for all your support and I look forward to seeing you at a game!

Go the Stangas!

Ed
