VFL Round 3 Team
Zane LIttlejohn has named his 23-man squad for the Hawks’ massive Easter Monday showdown against the Cats, with seven alterations to the side that accounted for Sydney a fortnight ago.
Into the side comes former Box Hill-listed players James Blanck and Lachie Bramble, with that duo joined by Sam Butler, Jacob Koschitzke, Chad Wingard and the returning Fionn O’Hara & Josh Morris.
Tyler Brockman, Jack Scrimshaw and Harry Morrison all impressed in the Hawks’ round one win over the Swans and have since been rewarded with senior returns, while Liam Coghlan, Max Hall, Stu Horner and Jed Rule are unlucky victims of a relatively empty treatment room at Waverley Park and the selection squeeze it has caused.
All told there are 18-AFL listed Hawks in the squad, with the five-strong cohort of Box Hill talent comprised of Co-Captain Cal Porter, half-back Callum Brown, wingman Ed Phillips, utility Jaylon Thorpe and Ethan Stanley, who has been designated our 23rd man.
Coghlan, Hall, Horner and Rule have all been listed as emergencies for the match, and are joined in reserve by former captain and Col Austen Trophy winner Damian Mascitti, who having missed round one features in the selection mix for the first time this season.
