DeWit the fit for the Hawks

The Box Hill Hawks are pleased to announce the signing of Mason DeWit for the 2019 VFL season.

The youngster came across after a year at Frankston Football Club, with an eagerness to don the brown and gold.

“[I was] ready to step it up a little bit more, so I thought I’d take up the opportunity to come to Box Hill,” DeWit told boxhillhawks.com.au.

He started his football journey playing locally at Mount Eliza Football Club, before spending three years at the Dandenong Stingrays.

Having nearly completed a full pre-season with the Hawks, DeWit says he is loving the program so far.

“[I love] the professionalism of it all. It’s that whole next step up and so close to the AFL experience.

“It’s going to make you a better person, if not a better footballer as well.”

Playing as a tall wing and centre half-back, DeWit says he looks forward to running out alongside some of Hawthorn’s AFL players.

“It’s obviously going to be challenging at first, getting that chemistry, but it’s only going to improve us as VFL players, playing with the best of the best.”

DeWit is one of the many talented recruits that Box Hill has signed for the upcoming 2019 VFL season, as the Hawks look to kick off their premiership defence.
