VFLW coaches’ votes, R6: Boyd polls perfect 10

Maddie Boyd returned in fine fashion for Box Hill in its 33-point win over Casey in Wonthaggi on Sunday.

The star forward gathered 22 disposals to go with a goal, 10 hit-outs and eight marks to receive full votes from the coaches in the VFLW Coaches MVP award.

The perfect performance has seen Boyd rocket up the leaderboard with her 23 votes for the season being the fifth-most in the competition. 

Akayla Peterson was next best in the votes with eight, thanks to her 18 disposals, six tackles and two marks.

Jordan Mifsud polled in yet another game for the Hawks, with three votes taking her overall tally to 21, ranking seventh in the competition.

The co-vice-captain recorded 19 disposals to complement her nine tackles and three marks. 

Defender Ellie McLinden polled for the first time this season with the coaches awarding her two votes for her 10 disposals, four marks and two tackles. 

Young guns Laura Elliott and Hannah Fosbrooke each received one vote to round out Box Hill’s tally.

Elliott thrived in her new midfield role with 14 disposals, four marks and three tackles while Fosbrooke dominated in her Hawks debut with two goals and 12 disposals.
