Hawks Hit The Road For Round 5

The Box Hill Hawks have made five changes ahead of Sunday’s match-up against the Borough in Wonthaggi.

Into the squad comes the AFL experience of Sam Frost, Changkuoth Jiath and Finn Maginness, while developing tall Jasper Scaife has overcome the minor injury which sidelined him last for last week’s win over Geelong.

The good news story among the additions is Calsher Dear, who makes a belated start to his 2025 campaign following an interrupted preseason.

The high-flying second-year Hawk will begin his bid for a senior re-call on managed minutes.

Box Hill lose two of their best-performed players out of last week, with four-goal hero Jack Ginnivan and ball magnet Henry Hustwaite rewarded for their fine form with elevation to the AFL squad for Sunday’s hit-out against the Eagles.

Cal Porter and Trent Bianco have been managed, while Blake Simondson, a debutant last weekend, can consider himself unlucky to feel the selection squeeze and be omitted.

Hosted by the Bass Coast Shire, the first bounce of Box Hill’s double header against Port Melbourne is scheduled for 11:05am in at Wonthaggi Recreation Reserve. The two clubs will then butt heads from 2:30pm in the VFLW encounter.

Any changes to the selected 23 will be communicated prior to Sunday’s first bounce.
