VFL Selection: Eyes on the Tigers
The Box Hill Hawks have made five changes ahead of Saturday’s early afternoon showdown against Richmond, re-gaining four AFL-listed Hawks and handing a debut to a developing youngster.
The headline addition is undoubtably Mitch Lewis, who has been named to make his return from a niggle which has sidelined him since four of the AFL season. A 2018 Box Hill premiership player, Saturday will be Lewis’ 38th VFL game and his first since round 13, 2019.
The key forward will ramp up his return to senior action by playing a half.
Rebounding defenders Seamus Mitchell and Bailey Macdonald also return to the fold, with the latter overcoming the hip issue which resulted in his late withdrawal from last Sunday’s win over GWS.
Developing ruck prospect Clay Tucker returns to the side having missed the wins over Essendon and the Giants, while Drouin’s Seb Amoroso has been named to make his debut as the Hawks’ 23rd man.
Out of the side go Chad Wingard, who wont be risked ahead of next weekend’s bye having reported tightness at half-time of the win over GWS, while Nick Watson has been elevated on the back of eight goals in two weeks.
Remy Maclean and Jett Latchford, who each played well in the back-to-back wins over the Bombers and Giants, miss out due to team balance, while Eastern Ranges’ Cody Anderson, who impressed on debut last weekend, returns to the Coates League.
Any changes to Box Hill’s selected side will be communicated prior to Saturday’s first bounce, scheduled for 12:05pm.
