Senior Assistant Coaching Announcement

The Box Hill Hawks are pleased to announce that Mark Hibbins and Nathan Foley have both joined the club in senior coaching roles for season 2016.

Mark and Nathan will join current assistant coach Paul Kennedy and senior coach Marco Bello and will provide some fantastic experience across both grades of football.

Mark has had a variety of coaching roles over the last 17 years including Wesley College 1st XVIII Coach between 1998-2004 as well as coaching Old Collegians in the VAFA from 2005-2015 which includes two premierships (2011 & 2012) as well as being voted VAFA coach of the year in 2012.

Nathan Foley comes to the club straight out of a playing career at the top level at Richmond Football Club after retiring in August 2015.

Foley was drafted by Richmond using pick 3 in the 2003 AFL Rookie Draft, from the Geelong Falcons. He made his debut in Round 10, 2005 against Melbourne

In 2007, Foley had a break-out season, establishing himself as one of the AFL’s best on-ballers. He was selected in the squad of 40 for the All-Australian team, but missed out when the official 22-man team was released in September 2007. He was runner-up in the Jack Dyer Medal count, polling only one vote behind Matthew Richardson.

In 2008, Foley was named as Richmond’s deputy vice-captain along with Chris Newman, who has recently joined the Hawthorn Football Club Coaching Ranks.

We believe both men bring exceptional knowledge and experience to our club and are very well equipped to continually teach and develop our young playing group.

We look forward to them starting when the players return on Monday 23rd of November.
