Round Three Ins & Outs
Box Hill will be boosted by the inclusion of a couple returning young guns and a trio of experienced hands for Sunday’s clash with Sandringham at the MCG.
A pleasing inclusion comes in the form of second-year Hawk Connor Downie, who looks to have put a troublesome ankle issue behind him and could feature in his first outing of 2022.
Meanwhile, Liam Shiels will play his first game of footy as a father, having welcomed newborn son Thomas with his partner Claire last weekend.
Tom Phillips, who was his side’s best last weekend, Emerson Jeka, Finn Maginness and Jacob Koschitzke have all been named as emergencies for the Hawks on Sunday, so we’ll have to wait and see which bounce any combination of that quartet suit up for.
There’s good news for two VFL-listed Hawks who missed last weekend’s loss to Carlton, with reigning Col Austen Trophy winner Damian Mascitti and classy small forward Ben Cavarra both returning to the match day squad.
Mascitti missed round two with concussion, while Cavarra was unable to take his place due to Covid-19.
You can catch all the action from the MCG on the screens of Channel 7 from 12pm, as well as via our socials. For more information please refer to our handy Game Day Guide.
Please note: our final team will be confirmed at 11:30 on Sunday morning.
