Round 20 Ins & Outs

Clint Proctor has made eight changes to the Box Hill side that defeated the Northern Bullants a fortnight ago.

The Hawks’ match committee has re-called a trio of experienced hands for Saturday’s match against Frankston, while also offering opportunity to five members of generation next.

Reigning Col Austen Trophy winner Damian Mascitti is joined by skipper Hugh Beasley and livewire forward Vincent Adduci in the squad, with the latter set to feature in the brown and gold for the first time since the round 10 win over Gold Coast.

Their maturity will be complemented by the exuberance and energy of Max Hall, Max Walton, Liam Coghlan, Charlie Beasley and David Brinker-Ritchie.

Out of the team goes the AFL-listed group of ruckman Max Lynch (managed), defender Kyle Hartigan and forwards Jacob Koschitzke, Jai Serong, Sam Butler and Emerson Jeka.

Box Hill-listed utility Jaylon Thorpe has been managed, while Brady Grey has entered the competition’s Health and Safety Protocols having returned a positive Covid test early in the week.

The defensive end will be anchored by former skipper Mascitti and his successor, Hugh Beasley, a pair who will be ably supported by the ever-reliable Mason De Wit and Stu Horner.

Around the ball the young ruck tandem of Max Ramsden and Brinker-Ritchie will have the likes of Daniel Howe, Liam Shiels, Cal Porter and Tom Phillips at their feet.

In the front third the Hawks will look to two of the competition’s three most prolific goal kickers, Fergus Greene and Ben Cavarra, with aerial support provided by Jackson Callow and the resting ruckman.

Kai Windsor of Eastern Ranges has retained his place as 23rd man, having impressed debut two weeks ago.

The game kicks off at 1:10pm and will be broadcast live on the screens of Channel 7.

Both teams will support former staff member Chris Ross and his fight against Motor Neurone Disease, with fundraising initiatives and merchandise at the ground and online raising vital funds for Fight MND.
