Round 18 Ins & Outs

Box Hill travel to Preston City Oval for an important match-up with the Bullants this Sunday afternoon, boasting some potential big-name ins, some much needed continuity in key areas and an extra-special debutant.

Jacob Koschitzke, Ned Long, Kyle Hartigan and Sam Butler have all been named in Clint Proctor’s extended squad, with their involvement to be dictated by the senior Hawks’ needs on Saturday.

Top aged Eastern Ranges young gun Kai Windsor is the bolter in this squad, having been named as Box Hill’s 23rd man for the match.

Windsor gets his chance following a string of fine performances in the development program. His selection marks both his VFL debut and a further strengthening of the Box Hill-Eastern Ranges pathway.

Skipper Hugh Beasley has been managed for the match-up, while fellow experienced names Damian Mascitti and James Parsons will join Beasley on the sidelines.

The latter pair picked up knocks in last weekend’s stirring win over Werribee and with the Hawks fixtured for a final bye of the season next week it was determined the extra break will best serve their recoveries.

In promising news, Vincent Adduci has been named as an emergency for the second week in succession, indicating a return to action isn’t far away for the Hawks’ creative live-wire.

Adduci, who hasn’t played since the brown and gold’s Round 10 win over Gold Coast, placed third in Box Hill’s 2021 Col Austen Trophy count and won VFL Team of the Year selection.

Box Hill’s final team will be confirmed and communicated at 11:30am on Sunday, half-an-hour before the first bounce.

You’ll be able to catch all the action from Preston City Oval on Channel 7 from midday, with social coverage via our channels.
