Development Side Record Big Win Over Frankston

The Box Hill Hawks Development team recorded a big win over the Frankston Dolphins yesterday, with 122-points the difference at the final siren.

After a disappointing loss to the Northern Blues last week, the group was determined to significantly improve their performance and record a win in their Round 11 match.

After a tight first quarter, Box Hill then broke the game wide open, managing to kick an impressive 25 goals for the match with a total of 13 goal scorers.

Billy Murphy impressed early, with his pressure forcing errors from Frankston and creating turnovers.

The second quarter saw Frankston struggle to get the ball inside their forward 50. Box Hill managed to control the game and play on their terms.

The third term saw an extremely physical contest from both sides. With hard running from Box Hill and Frankston, there was a lot of fast ball movement where both team’s skills were put on display.

After the last break, Box Hill came out firing, piling on a massive 12 goals for the quarter. The physicality and aggressiveness of the team meant that Box Hill were able to seal the win.

Development Coach Matt Adolph spoke after the match about the team’s superb performance.

“I was really proud of the efforts today. Marc Lock stamped his intent early and I’ve never seen Stuart Horner defend that well.”

“It was a genuine outstanding team effort and everyone should hold their heads high.”

The Senior Box Hill side takes on Geelong today at Simonds Stadium at 2pm. This match will also be broadcast live on Channel 7.
