Mynott arrives at City Oval

Trent Mynott is the latest in a string of exciting signings for the Box Hill Hawks.

The midfielder arrives at City Oval following two seasons on Essendon’s AFL rookie list.

Despite not breaking into the senior team, Mynott enjoyed an impressive VFL campaign in 2019, averaging 19.4 disposals and 4.3 tackles across his 19 appearances.

GM-Football Daniel Napoli says the club is pleased to have secured Mynott’s services ahead of the 2020 season.

“With our list almost finalised for the 2020 season, we’re really excited about the new prospects we’ve brought into our football club,” Napoli said.

“Trent is a player with so much upside. He’s quick, he’s got strong skills by foot, and he knows how to extract the football and find space.

“He also understands what it means to be part of an elite football program, so we’re confident he’ll make a great impact on those around him.”

In a purple patch of recruiting, the Hawks have also enlisted Andrew Wall (Wentworth FC), Josh Le Grice (Sandringham Dragons) and Riley Bowman (Essendon VFL/Sandringham Dragons) ahead of the 2020 season.

This follows the signing of Josh Deluca earlier this week, with Brett Deledio and Andy Otten also coming onboard during the off-season as playing-assistant coaches.

Stay tuned for more recruitment details as Box Hill look to finalise its list early in the new year.
