July 24: Community Clubs Wrap

Across the bye, both injuries and player management meantthat many left their boots off for the week; however those who did don a guernsey put their best foot forward for their respective community clubs.

 

When Brayden Kilpatrick, Chris Jones and their South Croydon teammates faced off against a Norwood outfit including Nelson Lane, Stuart Horner and Tom Maloney, it was the former who took the four points in a result determined by less than a straight kick. Kilpatrick hit the scoreboard and Jones was named among the best for the victors; while Lane also booted a major, and Horner and Maloney battled valiantly for the losing side.

Mackenzie Doreian again featured amongst the best players for Blackburn, as they comfortably accounted for North Ringwood; while Michael Knoll was a strong representative for Vermont’s reserves, landing himself amongst the best with a goal to his name, as the Eagles came out 29-point victors over Doncaster.

Unfortunately, the results fell the other way for Billy Evans and his Waverley Blues side, who went down to Scoresby; while Jesse Cucinotta’s impressive performance, comprising two goals, saw him named among the best for his Heidelberg side, but wasn’t enough to get them over the line against their Northern neighbours.

Ned Reeves kicked three majors and featured amongst the best for St. Kevin’s in their 21-point defeat of St. Bedes; while De La Salle fell two goals shy of Old Brighton, in spite of a goal from Harrison Burt, a showing from Geordie Nagle that landed him amongst the best and able support from Lachlan Walker.
