Community Wrap Up

There were just four Hawks in action for their community clubs this past weekend, with many of the Club’s developing youngsters given the opportunity to feature in Sunday morning’s scratch match at Ikon Park.

Jesse Cucinotta, Riley Bowman, James Blanck, Chayce Black, Cayden Maki, Adrian Kalcovski, Charlie Beasley and Luis D’Angelo turned out for the clash against a Carlton/North Melbourne composite side, no doubt better for the experience.

Mackenzie Doreian’s Blackburn secured a crucial 21-point victory over Rowville. It’s a result that keeps the Panthers within touching distance of the competition’s top four and well in the hunt for a finals berth. The speedy midfielder was instrumental in his side’s win and named among the best for his efforts.

Sadly, Mihaele Zalac’s Doncaster fell to the visiting North Ringwood by five points. The Saints surged home in the last, kicking seven goals to two to take the points and join their hosts on three wins for the season. While collectively disappointed, ‘Zal’ can take heart from his own performance, which was recognised as one of his team’s best.

Beau Tennant kicked a crucial goal in Montrose’s two-point triumph over Wantirna South. The win moves the Demons to the cusp of the competition’s top four with just six games left to play.

Jake Arundall’s Eastern Ranges enjoyed a big win over Gippsland Power in the NAB League. Jake played a leading hand on the day, contributing three goals in a 55-point win which moves the Ranges to seventh on the competition ladder.
