Community Clubs (June 7)
In the NAB League, Jed Rule and Will Sexton both lined up with the Oakleigh Chargers, they
defeated the Calder Cannons 14.9 (93) to 8.8 (56) to put the Chargers into second on the league
ladder.
Mason Hawkins, James O’Connor and Harry Banfield all represented Vermont in the ENFL on
Saturday, with Banfield making his senior debut.
The trio and the Eagles went down to South Croydon 10.13 (73) to 8.11 (59). Hawkins managed a goal in the side’s loss.
Also, in the EFNL Premier Division Seniors, it was Liam Coghlan and Campbell Tweedie for Doncaster
against Lachlan Wynd and Mitch Sruk with Rowville.
The Sharks took a 19-point win, over the previously undefeated Hawks at Rowville. Wynd booted two goals for the hosts and Sruk was named fifth best. For the Sharks it was Tweedie who was judged best afield.
In the EFNL First Division Seniors, Cayden Maki took a huge win over Wantirna South by 74 points, 16.13 (109) to 5.5 (35). Maki earnt himself fourth best for the Mustangs.
Will Garner and Blackburn in the EFNL Premier Division Reserves secured a 67-point win over
Norwood, 14.9 (93) to 3.8 (26). Garner managed a goal for the Panthers in the victory.
Flynn Lakey and Gisborne managed a 15-point win over Golden Square in the Seniors Competition of
the Bendigo Football Netball League, 11.11 (77) to 8.14 (62). Lakey slotted one goal for the Bulldogs
in their Round 8 victory.
In the Gippsland League, Jack Hume and Leongatha thumped Drouin by 153 points, 23.20 (158) to
0.5 (5).
Luis D’Angelo also played in the Gippsland League with Traralgon, who defeated Maffra by 18
points, 12.8 (80) to 9.8 (62).
Clinton Young also lined up last weekend, with Gisborne in the Bendigo Football Netball League.
Young booted a goal for the Bulldogs in their defeat of Golden Square, 10.3 (63) to 3.4 (22).
Young said he “pulled up well” after his Saturday afternoon feature.
