Community Clubs April 16

Our Hawks had an impressive turnout in their local teams, with more players taking on their first games of the season whilst others are well into the second or third game. Last weekend highlighted the skills and player performances of our VFL and VFLW players with a few names making an appearance in the ‘best player’ votes. 

VFL: In Round 1 of the Northern Football League, Kye Agosta and the Hurstbridge Seniors emerged victorious against the Eltham Seniors, 12.14 (86) to 9.6 (60).

The Frankston YWC FNC Seniors with Lachlan Bryce and Heath Bidgood had a 45 point win over the Mt. Eliza FNC Seniors in Round 1 of the Mornington Peninsula League on Saturday, 13.13 (91) to 6.10 (46).

The Blackburn Seniors with Billy Hicks and Nathan Philactides defeated the Vermont Seniors with Noah Bourke, 14.11 (95) to 10.11 (71) in the Eastern Football League,. Amongst the 24 point win, Nathan Philactides was received best player. Despite the loss, Noah also received best player on the day as he snagged 2 goals for Vermont!

Round 2 found the Jye Peacock and the Mooroolbark Seniors facing a 32 point loss against Mitcham Seniors, 9.11 (65) to 14.13 (97).

In Round 2 of the Gippsland Football League, the Maffra Seniors with Zachary Felsbourg suffered a whopping 66 point loss against the Drouin Seniors, 6.12 (48) to 16.18 (114).

In Round 3 of the Ovens & Murray Football League, Toby Cossor and the Myrtleford Seniors came away with a 25 point loss against the Yarrawonga Seniors, 9.11 (65) to 13.12 (90).

VFLW: In Round 2 of the Mornington Peninsula Football League, the Warragul Industrials with Alisa Molesworth, Elise Molesworth, and Matilda Van Berkel secured a 61 point win. Their win came over the Mornington FNC Seniors, 10.15 (75) to 2.2 (14). In the heat of the win, Matilda scored 2 goals for Warragul and was named best player, along with her teammate Alisha!

In Round 1 of the Outer East Football League, Paula Pavic and the Healesville Senior Women’s defeated Olinda Ferny Creek Seniors, 4.14 (38) to 3.2 (20). Paula was named best player!

In Round 1 of VAFA, Taylah Canobie and the St Kevin’s Seniors won by 42 points against the West Brunswick Seniors, 8.11 (59) to 2.5 (17). In addition to the win, Taylah received best player!

The Old Scotch Seniors with Bella Gray and Jade Wise had a massive win against Old Yarra Cobras with Erin Woodford and Mikayla Lee in their first game of the season, 15.8 (98) to 1.1 (7). Amongst the win, Jade snagged a goal and was named best player along with Bella.
