Box Hill VFL and VFLW practice games confirmed
Box Hill footy returns from Thursday 23 February after the AFL confirmed an exciting suite of practice games for the Hawks’ VFL and VFLW sides.
After Hawthorn’s AFL clash with Geelong, Box Hill’s VFL team will take the field against the Cats at GMHBA Stadium from 6.45pm on Thursday.
Then on Thursday 2 March, the same day as Hawthorn’s AFL match-up against Collingwood in Tasmania, Box Hill VFL will play the Magpies at the AIA Centre, giving Victorian-based Hawks fans a taste of footy.
The following week will see a preseason clash with Williamstown for the VFL side, taking place on Friday 10 March at the NEC Hangar.
Box Hill’s VFLW team will take the field for the first time in 2023 on Sunday 5 March against the Southern Saints at La Trobe University.
They will then face Essendon on Saturday 11 March at the NEC Hangar, before taking on the Bombers again in Round 1 two weeks later.
Box Hill’s VFL side will also end their run of practice matches against Essendon at the NEC Hangar, facing the Bombers on Sunday 19 March.
Selected squads will be released the evening before each match, or on the Friday in the case of Sunday games.
Entry is free for all fixtures.
