Another week around the local leagues saw undefeated sides remain dominant, teammates face off and a spate of best on ground performances, as Box Hill representatives keep on impressing for their community clubs.
Vermont continue to hold firm atop the Eastern Football League’s Division 1 table, this week defeating Balwyn by 35 points with help from Michael Knoll.
Brayden Kilpatrick and South Croydon claimed bragging rights over East Ringwood and their Box Hill contingent, with the margin sitting at a convincing 83 points by final siren. Kilpatrick assisted his side with a goal; while in consolation for East Ringwood, Tristan Tweedie continued an impressive run of individual form with another performance which landed him amongst the best. In support, Leigh Osborne hit the scoreboard; while Liam Jeffs, Tristan Davies and Reece Groves also battled valiantly in defeat.
Tom Maloney, Stuart Horner and Nelson Lane nabbed the four points for Norwood in their contest with Montrose, with Maloney named among the best.
Mackenzie Doreian and Blackburn accounted comfortably for Knox; while James Locke hit the scoreboard as Doncaster East did the same against Lilydale.
The Waverley Blues fell agonisingly short, succumbing to South Belgrave by a single point in spite of another solid performance from Billy Evans – his name again featuring amongst the best.
In the Victorian Amateur Football Association, Box Hill personnel were out in force as Ned Reeves, Vincent Adduci and St. Kevin’s took on a De La Salle outfit comprising Lachlan Walker, Geordie Nagle and Harrison Burt. The final scoreline saw St. Kevin’s return to the winner’s list courtesy of a three-goal victory; despite best efforts from Lachlan Walker, who was named the best for his side.
Nathan Boucher and Sam Parsons helped the Collegians to an 18-point win over Old Brighton; while Liam Mackie slotted a goal to get his Carey side over the line against Ajax.
Capping the weekend off in the Northern Football League, Jesse Cucinotta produced a best on ground performance, as he led Heidelberg to victory.
