Community Club Wrap Up
Another week of community clubs action saw a handful of Box Hill-listed talent don the guernseys of their local teams, with mates turned foes, tight finishes and a number of Hawks named among their team’s best.
The EFL Premier League returned just one win for our boys, with Adrian Kalcovski’s Vermont too good for Mihaele Zalac’s Doncaster.
Despite a 10-goal defeat, ‘Zal’ was recognised as one of the Sharks’ best on the day.
Elsewhere, Chayce Black’s Rowville were no match for South Croydon, while Mackenzie Doreian’s Blackburn went down to Balwyn. Like ‘Zal’, Mack was named as one of his side’s best on the day.
In EFL Division One Cayden Maki’s Mooroolbark squared off with East Ringwood in a top-of-the-table clash. Sadly for Mak and his Mustangs they suffered their first defeat of the 2021 season.
Across town Beau Tennant was among the goalkickers for his Montrose side, though there was little he could to stop a nine goal defeat.
In the VAFA Josh Le Grice was in the best as his Old Brighton overran Old Melburnians, while Riley Bowman’s St. Kevins were too strong for Charlie Beasley’s Old Trinity – though both boys did enough to feature in their respective side’s best players.
Jesse Cucinotta’s Shepparton United returned to the winners’ list wth a 29-point victory over Goulburn Valley League rivals Tatura.
