VFLW Selection: Taking on the Bulldogs at Whitten Oval
Box Hill will host the Western Bulldogs at Mission Whitten Oval on Saturday, with both sides looking to build momentum as the season progresses. The last time the two teams met was in Round 6 this year, when the Hawks produced a strong four-quarter performance to record a 35-point win over the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs, however, will take confidence from their previous clash at Mission Whitten Oval in 2024, where they were able to control the contest and secure a 25-point victory on home turf. With both teams having recent wins over each other, Saturday’s meeting shapes as a genuine arm-wrestle.
Box Hill will be looking to use their midfield pressure and ball movement to replicate their most recent success, while the Bulldogs will aim to bring more consistency forward of centre and capitalise on scoring opportunities. With both sides sitting around the middle of the ladder, the result could prove important in shaping their push toward the back half of the season.
