VFLW Selection: Hawks fly west for Cats clash
The Box Hill Hawks VFLW side head to Deakin University (Geelong) this Saturday for a Round 3 clash with the Geelong Cats, as the brown and gold look to continue their strong start to the 2026 season.
Set in Geelong, the Hawks will be aiming to bring consistent pressure and momentum against a Geelong outfit on their home deck at Deakin University.
The last time the two sides met was in April, 2025, in the opening round of the VFLW season. On that occasion, Box Hill delivered a dominant performance, recording a 58-point victory after winning 14.4 (88) to 4.6 (30) at GMHBA Stadium. That result set the tone early in the season, with the Hawks controlling the game from start to finish.
With that strong performance in mind, Saturday’s match shapes as another exciting contest as both teams meet again in Geelong.
Getting There
🚗 Driving: Deakin University’s Waurn Ponds campus in Geelong is accessible via the Princes Freeway, with on-campus parking available.
🚆 PTV: Take a V/Line train from Southern Cross Station to Waurn Ponds Station, then a short walk or bus connection to Deakin University.
Arriving early is recommended due to campus traffic and limited peak parking availability.
