Hawks Make Nine Changes for Kangaroos Clash

The Box Hill Hawks have made a suite of changes ahead of Saturday’s visit of North Melbourne, recalling the returning duo of Changkuoth Jiath and Ethan Phillips among nine additions.

Joining that pair are developing midfielder Josh Ward, livewire small forward Sam Butler and ruck-forward Max Ramsden.

From a Box Hill point-of-view it’s excellent to see hard-nosed defender Stu Horner named for his first match of the 2024 season – and his 47th senior game for the Club all told – alongside the debuting Nathan Philactides and Josh Tovey.

Out of the 23 who lost last time out against Gold Coast go the injured trio of Ned Reeves, Jaylon Thorpe and Josh Bennetts – all of whom will look to push for selection at senior and VFL level next weekend – while Jack Gunston, Jai Serong and Harry Morrison have all been named in the Hawks AFL squad.

Box Hill’s final squad will be communicated prior to Saturday’s first bounce, which is scheduled for 2:05pm.
