Hawks Fly North For Giant Challenge

Zane Littlejohn and his match committee have made two changes ahead of our second meeting for the year with GWS, re-calling Chad Wingard from injury and re-gaining the services of Finn Maginness following a stint with the seniors.

Wingard returns for his eighth VFL appearance of the season, and his first since the round 15 win over Geelong, while Maginness is also into the Box Hill line-up for an eighth time in 2024 following a fortnight at AFL level.

Two names must make way to accomodate Wingard and Maginness, so out of the side go youngsters Andreas Stefanakis and Kye Agosta – with both retained as emergencies for the trip to Sydney.

Its good to see Ben Cavarra’s name among the emergencies, suggesting his return from a hamstring niggle isn’t far away. The captain of the 2022 VFL Team of the Year felt tightness in the hamstring during the Hawks’ last interstate trip, which was the round 16 loss to Southport.

Sunday’s game at Blacktown International Sports Park is scheduled for a 11:05am start. Any changes to our selected 23 will be communicated prior to the first bounce.
