Strong Hawks Contingent Set For Cats Visit

18 AFL-listed Hawks will take the field for the visit of Geelong on Sunday, including the returning pair of Chad Wingard and Ned Reeves, as well as debutant Will McCabe.

Finn Maginness resumes following a week with the senior set-up, while wingman Ed Phillips is back in the mix having missed last weekend’s loss to Port Melbourne with a hamstring complaint.

Zane Littlejohn will be without key forward Mitch Lewis, who has been elevated to the AFL side for their match against the Cats following two VFL appearances either side of Box Hill’s round 14 bye, while the VFL-listed quartet of Jaylon Thorpe, Stu Horner, Daniel Wood and Andrew Mathieson are the unlucky names to feel the selection squeeze.

They’ve been retained as emergencies in the Hawks’ extended squad, alongside youngsters Nathan Philactides, Heath Bidgood, Andreas Stefanakis and Kye Agosta.

Any changes to Box Hill’s selected side will be communicated prior to Sunday’s first bounce, scheduled for 2:05pm.
