Selection: Hawks return home for huge clash with Richmond
The Box Hill Hawks return to Box Hill City Oval this Saturday for Round 8 of the 2026 VFL Premiership Season, taking on Richmond Football Club in the club’s first game back at City Oval this season.
The occasion marks a significant one for the club, with Box Hill returning to its traditional home ground while redevelopment works continue around the venue. It’s a long-awaited return for the Hawks and an exciting opportunity to play in front of their supporters at City Oval once again.
The last time the two sides met was during the 2025 VFL season, where Richmond came away with a 25-point win over the Hawks. Box Hill will be looking to respond this weekend and turn the result around on home soil.
The Hawks head into Round 8 eager to continue building consistency as the season progresses. Against a strong Richmond outfit, composure with ball in hand, pressure around stoppages and making the most of opportunities in front of goal will all be key to securing the four points.
With the season approaching the halfway mark, Box Hill will be looking to make a statement in their return to City Oval and produce a strong performance in front of the home crowd.
