Positions Available: Sports Trainers For 2018

The Box Hill Hawks Football Club, affiliated with Hawthorn Football Club, competes in the Victorian Football League Women’s competition and is looking for Sports Trainers to assist with the VFL Women’s team in 2018.

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring player hydration during training sessions and matches
  • Pre and post training/game massage
  • Taping of players for injury prevention
  • Assisting with acute first aid treatment and injury management
  • Possible role with both physiotherapists and strength and conditioning departments

Trainers are rostered on a fortnightly basis for training, with pre-season training beginning in late November.

Training sessions are held at Waverley Park, Mulgrave on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, as well as the occasional Saturday morning. In season training will begin from March 2018 and is held at Box Hill City Oval.

Availability on game days (Saturday and Sunday) is also a requirement.

This is an opportunity to gain valuable experience in an elite football program, within a fun and supportive environment.

To be successful you will require:

  • Level 1 or 2 Sports Trainer Certificate
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificates
  • Be available to work evening training sessions (approx. 2 per fortnight) and game days (Saturday or Sunday)
  • Basic taping and/or massage techniques advantageous
  • Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not essential
