Employment Opportunity: Massage Therapists

About us

The Box Hill Hawks Football Club are seeking to place two Myotherapists and/ or Massage Therapists to service the Clubs athletes on Monday nights from 4:30pm-7pm at Box Hill City Oval. 

This position presents a unique opportunity to work for a Club that is rich in history, proud, successful and a respected member of the Victorian Football League. 

About the role 

Reporting to the High Performance Manager & Head Physiotherapist, massage therapists will: 

  • Provide athletes with soft tissue treatment through manual treatment
  • Assist with musculoskeletal complaints, general muscle tension & recovery 
  • Understand their scope and capabilities, and refer athletes to the Physiotherapist for assessment by High Performance team

Successful applicants will be available for 1 x 2.5-hour session per week. This session is on a Monday evening at Box Hill City Oval between 4:30pm-7pm.

The successful candidate 

The successful candidate will have strong manual therapy skills, backed by relevant tertiary study. Qualifications can include: 

  • Diploma or advanced diploma of remedial massage or myotherapy 
  • Bachelor of Health Science or Clinical Myotherapy
  • Sports Trainer certificate is advantageous

You have demonstrated experience in supporting recovery and preparation for sport, with practical experience within a clinical or elite setting. 

Other criteria includes: 

  • Professional indemnity and public liability insurance 
  • Working with Children Check
