Emerging brigade re-sign!

The Box Hill Hawks Football Club are very excited to announce FIVE of their young guns returning for season 2017.

Anthony Brolic, Jack Firns, Stuart Horner, Sam Switkowski and Jordan Walker have all recommitted to the club after their successful 2016 season. The five signings continue the Hawks successful off-season, adding further depth and experience to the group of re-signings for 2017.

In his first year, out from TAC Cup, Anthony Brolic made a quick and seemingly swift transition to senior footy. This was evident with 7 games in the senior VFL side as well as being a key contributor to the Development team’s premiership victory. Also in his first year, out of the TAC Cup, Stuart Horner had a great first season in the Brown and Gold, managing 15 games in a strong development team. Both players will be hungry for further senior opportunities in 2017.

Adding to these two is the signatures of Jack Firns, Jordan Walker & Sam Switkowski. All three players played senior football throughout 2016 and were also members of the Development team’s Premiership win over Casey Scorpions. They are key re-signings moving into 2017, with potential to play regular senior football under new coach Chris Newman.

Recruiting and List Manager, Chris Monaghan was delighted with the signings, stating that it is important that we continue the great development of our young talent, so they can achieve their AFL goals. “Having players like these guys coming through the Club, playing senior football and achieving success along the way is really important to our development program”.

The Box Hill Hawks are looking forward to the continual development of its list in 2017, allowing its young group of players to follow the same path as recent AFL players drafted from the Club.
