DEVELOPMENT: Happy Hawks go undefeated
[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]The Box Hill Hawks will head into this year’s finals series undefeated, following yesterday’s 26-point win over a second-placed Williamstown side.
The match will have served as a good tune-up for both sides, as the Hawks will again host the Seagulls in next Saturday’s qualifying final – Saturday September 5 – Box Hill City Oval: 11am
Box Hill’s captain Xavier Dimasi has described the Hawks’ season as “unreal”, and says the team is eager to get its finals campaign underway.
“The blokes are pumped, and so is the coaching staff – we are very hungry,” said Dimasi.

The squad’s intensity and physicality at the ball was key to Sunday’s victory, and will be one of the focuses heading into Saturday’s qualifying final.
“The message before the game was to be physical, and to try and pressure them into making errors,” said Dimasi.
Dalton Graham lead the way with a team-high five tackles and seven contested possessions, while Sam Switkowski kicked three goals to keep the pressure on the scoreboard.
The second quarter highlighted some areas for improvement, and Dimasi has pointed to the importance of four-quarter performances heading into finals.
“Consistency over the four quarters is going to be a big key – we can’t afford to have those five minutes lapses in games,” said Dimasi.
The Hawks will take confidence from Sunday’s win, and will be hoping to finish the finals series as they entered it.
“We would like to remain undefeated and finish the year off strongly,” said Dimasi.
