Community Clubs May 31

Another weekend gone means another wrap of our young Box Hill development boys and how they tracked with their respective community clubs. 

Jed Rule and Will Sexton lined up NAB League with the Oakleigh Chargers on Saturday afternoon. They suffered two-point lost to Geelong Falcons, 11.7 (73) to 10.11 (71). 

Sahaf Ali and The Eastern Rangers went down by a single point to Tasmania in the NAB League. While Eastern were more accurate in terms of goals, Tasmania’s behinds added up to the higher score. The final score was 8.19 (67) to 10.6 (66). 

In the Eastern Football Netball League Lachlan Wynd, Jake Arundell and Mitchell Sruk played with the Rowville Hawks in their defeat of Park Orchard in the Premier Division Seniors. They were victorious 20.14 (134) to 15.16 (106), with Wynd slotting four goals and Arundell two. Arundell and Sruk were also both named in the best players. 

Mason Hawkins played with Vermont in the Premier Division Seniors in the EFNL. The Eagles went down by ten points in the end to Balwyn, after trailing by just a few points at each change – 9.15 (69) to 9.5 (59).

While Harry Banfield lined up with Vermont in Premier Division Reserves for the EFNL. The Eagles were victorious over Balwyn, 11.15 (81) to 3.7 (25) and Banfield delivered a fifth best performance for the day.

Also in the EFNL, Liam Coghlan and Campbell Tweedie lined up with the Doncaster Sharks who suffered at the hands of Noble Park, the final score was 23.11 (149) to 5.6 (36). Coghlan was named fourth best in his sides loss. 

Cayden Maki was third best on ground and managed a goal with Mooroolbark in the 1st Division Seniors in the EFNL. The Mustangs took a 35-point win over the Croydon Blues, 11.15 (81) to 6.10 (46). 

In the Gippsland League, Luis D’Angelo and Traralgon defeated Sale 14.14 (98) to 12.6 (78) in their Round 8 clash. 

Jack Hume and the Leongatha Parrots managed a huge win over Moe in the Gippsland League. In the end it was 21.12 (138) to 6.8 (44). 

Flynn Lakey was named best afield for the Gisborne Bulldogs in the Bendigo Football Netball League. He and his side took a 16-goal win over Kangaroo Flat, 22.12 (144) to 6.9 (45). 

While the Sunbury Lions were defeated by Redan in the Ballarat Football Netball League, Jayden Eales was named second best for his side. The score at game’s end saw the Lions down by 13 points, 10.16 (76) to 8.15 (63).
