An update from our President
Dear Box Hill Hawks members, sponsors and supporters,
I hope you are keeping well and staying as connected as possible during these challenging times.
Like all of you, the club has been adjusting to the new ways of living and going about our lives and business. I would like to take the opportunity to assure you the club remains committed to participating in the VFL season in 2020, and the club is working hard with AFL Victoria and the other VFL clubs to explore every avenue possible to achieve this. We remain very hopeful and optimistic that our boys will have the opportunity to take to the field and compete for the 2020 VFL Premiership.
With no confirmed date for a return to footy, our key focus as a club remains keeping you, our members, sponsors and supporters informed as the situation evolves. The AFL are planning an update regarding the AFL season on Monday 27 April. Once we have had a chance to digest this and work through what that might mean for us and the VFL, we will provide you with a further update.
During the last month or so, our players, coaches and staff have remained positive and in good spirits. While the majority of our coaches and staff have been stood down during the season suspension, we are staying connected via weekly zoom calls and staying in touch in smaller groups.
Our leadership group are doing a fantastic job in keeping everyone motivated and accountable to the adjusted football program set by the coaches and strength and conditioning team. We are in great hands physically and mentally with our team of experts remaining available to any player, coach or staff member that needs to access their expertise. This has been a major priority for the board and me.
