Warren Signs On!

Box Hill Hawks Football Club are thrilled to announce the re-signing of leadership group member Max Warren for season 2017.

Warren played 17 games for the Hawks in season 2016, and was named in the best players on 5 occasions. Plying his trade across half-back and through the midfield, Warren was also selected in the 2016 VFL State league team that travelled to Adelaide.

Boxhillhawks.com.au caught up with Warren to get his thoughts on the year to come.

‘We have a lot of young blokes coming through which is always exciting and some experience hopefully sticking around so it was an easy decision in the end.’

‘Box Hill is a competitive club and the culture is excellent. One of their trademarks is that they want to be the most professional team outside the AFL.’

‘That makes it easier from me and the other guys at Box Hill to be able to play the best footy we can at the best level.’

Looking forward to next year, Warren is keen to learn from the 2016 VFL home and away season and hopefully grow as a club and individually.

‘We capitulated a little in the middle of the year so we just need to make sure that we learn from those tight games and find something extra to make sure we win them.’

‘I’m looking forward to having a bit of time off then next year start fresh and move forward as a club.’

The former Kangaroo was a welcome addition to City oval in 2016 and the club looks forward to seeing Max further develop in 2017 and beyond.
