VFLW Selection: Hawks Prepare for Sandringham Showdown

The Box Hill Hawks VFLW side returns to Box Hill City Oval on Saturday afternoon for a clash with Sandringham, looking to build momentum in front of the home crowd as part of a double-header.

The Hawks will take confidence into the contest after dominating the last meeting between the two sides. When they faced off in Round 11 of the 2025 VFLW season, Box Hill produced one of its most complete performances of the year, defeating Sandringham by 61 points. The Hawks controlled the game from start to finish with relentless pressure, strong ball movement and an efficient forward line, highlighting the brand of football they will be looking to reproduce this weekend.

Saturday’s clash presents another important opportunity for the brown and gold to continue their strong season against a Sandringham outfit eager to bounce back. With both sides boasting plenty of young talent and experienced leaders, fans can expect an entertaining contest from the opening bounce.

Following the VFL match against the GWS Giants, supporters are encouraged to stick around for a full afternoon of football as the Hawks’ VFLW side takes centre stage in the second half of the club’s home double-header.
