Selection: Hawks Host the Giants

Box Hill returns to Box Hill City Oval on Saturday morning looking to continue its strong 2026 campaign when the Hawks host the GWS Giants in Round 14 of the Smithy’s VFL season.

The Hawks enter the clash full of confidence after another impressive month of football and will be looking to make the most of home ground advantage against a Giants outfit searching to build momentum in the second half of the season.

The last time these two sides met came in Box Hill defeated GWS by 1 point in Round 19 in the 2024 season. On that occasion, the Hawks controlled the contest from the outset, winning the clearance battle and generating consistent forward-half pressure to create scoring opportunities. Their ability to move the ball efficiently and capitalise in front of goal proved the difference, as Box Hill secured the victory over the Giants.

Saturday’s contest shapes as an important opportunity for Box Hill to strengthen its position on the ladder, with every match becoming increasingly significant as the race towards finals heats up.

With plenty of exciting young talent and experienced leaders across both sides, fans can expect a fast-paced, physical contest from the opening bounce.
