Selection: Suns Challenge Awaits on the Coast

Box Hill heads north this weekend to take on the Gold Coast SUNS in a crucial Round 13 clash, with the match set to be played as a curtain-raiser to the AFL meeting between Hawthorn and Gold Coast at People First Stadium.

The Hawks will take confidence from the sides’ most recent meeting, when they recorded a commanding 84-point victory over the SUNS in Round 8, 2025, producing a dominant four-quarter performance on the Gold Coast.

However, with both teams eyeing an important four points as the season enters its second half, Box Hill will be expecting a much sterner challenge this time around. The Hawks will look to continue their strong form and strengthen their position on the VFL ladder against a talented SUNS outfit on its home deck, with the curtain-raiser providing a fantastic opportunity to showcase VFL football ahead of the AFL clash.

Where to watch:

The match will be played at People First Stadium on the Gold Coast as curtain-raiser to the AFL game, with the first bounce scheduled for 3:00pm. For Hawks supporters unable to make the trip north, the game will be streamed live and free via the AFL Live Official App and AFL website as well as Kayo Sports, allowing fans to catch all the action from wherever they are.

Entry

VFL spectators can enter through gate 3 from 2:45pm

Noting they’ll need a valid AFL ticket to enter the venue as it’s an AFL match day.
