2023 Coaching Structure Confirmed
The Box Hill Hawks are pleased to confirm Senior Coach Zane Littlejohn will be supported by a clutch of returning assistant and development coaches in 2023.
Cam Howat, a one-time Box Hill Hawk himself, resumes as Forward Coach, while Damian Mascitti will again combine playing and coaching duties in Box Hill’s backline.
Former Captain Kristian Height, who has spent time around the Hawks’ VFL and AFL programs in recent years, officially comes aboard as Midfield Coach.
“It’s exciting to be able to lock in Cam, Damian and Kristian to support Zane in 2023,” Ed Sill, Box Hill Hawks President said.
“They’re a wonderful trio of Box Hill people who understand who we are as a Club and are really keen to pay that forward.
“They’ve the utmost respect of our playing group and staff and, importantly, all strike a fantastic balance between development and performance imperatives.”
Further, in his role as dual role as Box Hill Senior Coach and Hawthorn Development Coach, Littlejohn will be supported by the Hawks’ Head of Development, Andy Collins.
Another former skipper, David Banfield, continues as the Club’s Head of Development and will again be supported by Kade Pargeter (Gippsland Pathways Manager) and Jason Philacides (Eastern Pathways Manager) in building the Hawks’ development programs and channels.
“Speaking of development, the work of David, Kade and Jason will continue to be of the utmost importance.
“In the last few years alone, they’ve built a strong connection between Box Hill and Eastern Ranges, Gippsland Power and all our community club partners.
“Their work has been instrumental in delivering the likes of Jai Newcombe, James Blanck, Max Hall, Max Walton, David Brinker-Ritchie, Luis D’Angelo, Mitch Sruk… honestly, what they’ve been able to achieve has exceeded all reasonable expectations.
“We’re pleased with where our football program sits just a few days out from the commencement of pre-season and believe this group, lead by Zane, will set us up for a strong 2023.”
