The Box Hill Hawks Football Club, affiliated with Hawthorn Football Club, competes in the Victorian Football League and is looking for Sports Trainers to assist with the 2018 VFL Men’s team.

Some responsibilities include of the role include:

  • Ensuring player hydration during training sessions and games
  • Pre and post training/game massage
  • Taping of players for injury prevention
  • Assisting with acute first aid treatment and injury management

Trainers are rostered on a fortnightly basis for training. Pre Season training begins in mid November 2017 and is held at Waverley Park, Mulgrave on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings. In season training will begin from March 2018 and is held at Box Hill City Oval. Availability for game days (Saturday and Sunday) is also required.

This is an opportunity to gain valuable experience in an elite football program, within a fun and supportive environment.

To be successful you will require:

  • Level 1 or 2 Sports Trainer Certificate
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificates
  • Be available to work evening training sessions (approx. 1 per fortnight) and game days (Saturday or Sunday)
  • Basic taping and/or massage techniques advantageous
  • Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not essential
